NanoSight Pro - Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) Instrument

Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) is an instrument used to measure the size and concentration of nanoparticles in liquid suspensions. This instrument utilizes light scattering and Brownian motion to determine the distribution and size of nanoparticles.

How NTA Works

  1. Nanoparticles in a liquid suspension are introduced into a sample chamber illuminated by a laser beam.
  2. Particles in the laser path scatter light, which is then captured by a 20x magnification microscope lens and observed using a digital camera.
  3. The camera records a video of particle movement, which follows Brownian motion.
  4. NTA software analyzes multiple particles simultaneously, measuring them individually and calculating hydrodynamic diameter using the Stokes-Einstein equation.

Advantages of NTA

  • Requires a low sample volume.
  • Easy sample preparation and minimal use of consumables, reducing operational costs.
  • Non-destructive analysis, allowing sample recovery if needed.
