RAHO Club E-Magazine Edition 005 Highlights Healthy Aging in Yogyakarta and Strengthening IMI–RAHO Research

RAHO Club has once again published E-Magazine Edition 005 in September 2026. This edition highlights various developments within the RAHO Club and Yayasan Inovasi Molekuler Indonesia (IMI) ecosystem, ranging from plans to improve the quality of life of older adults in Yogyakarta, the development of nanobubble studies, clinical case documentation, to the expansion of service networks and collaborations with various institutions. One of the main themes featured is “Improving the Quality of Life of Older Adults Starting from Yogyakarta.” The report describes a meeting between Prof. Sutiman Bambang Sumitro, Kan Eddy, and the team with Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X at the Yogyakarta Palace. The meeting discussed concerns regarding quality of life in older age and the possibility of developing programs that focus not only on longevity, but also on the ability of older adults to remain healthy, active, and independent.

Yogyakarta as a Planned Pilot Program for Improving the Quality of Life of Older Adults

The e-magazine explains the distinction between lifespan, which refers to how long a person lives, and healthspan, which refers to how long a person lives in good health and with preserved function. In the context of healthy aging, quality of life in older adults is not assessed solely based on the presence or absence of disease, but also on functional abilities such as performing daily activities, moving independently, making decisions, interacting socially, and continuing to contribute to the community.

According to the report, Yogyakarta is planned to serve as a pilot site for a program aimed at improving the quality of life of older adults. The program is expected to involve IMI and RAHO Club, together with Universitas Gadjah Mada, UGM Academic Hospital, and support from the Yogyakarta City Government. One of the key points emphasized is the importance of measurements before and after the program, including physical condition, functional ability, level of independence, and other scientific parameters.  This approach is consistent with the importance of developing healthy aging programs based on data that can be evaluated. In a research context, changes experienced by participants should be complemented by measurable parameters so that program outcomes can be systematically documented and analyzed.

From Clinical Experience to Scientific Documentation

Research receives significant attention in Edition 005. In the Research Update section, the e-magazine discusses several clinical experiences that later encouraged further studies on metabolic and cardiovascular conditions. One of the discussions involves dr. Triono Soendoro, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D. and a hydrogen nanobubble-based approach to diabetes. The e-magazine links several case observations with discussions on oxidative stress, inflammation, insulin sensitivity, and glucose metabolism. The topic is presented as part of the process of developing scientific studies together with RAHO Club and IMI research physicians.

This edition also presents the journey of a case involving chronic coronary artery disease managed by dr. Ricki Yudhanata, a physician and IMI researcher at RAHO Club Malang. The clinical changes observed in the patient were not left merely as service-related experience, but were documented as a scientific case report for further academic evaluation. Case reports are a form of early evidence that can be useful for documenting clinical phenomena and generating research hypotheses. However, findings from a single patient cannot be directly generalized as evidence of the effectiveness of an intervention in a broader population. Studies with stronger designs are still required to evaluate mechanisms, safety, dosage, and effectiveness more comprehensively.

Research, Healthcare Services, and Collaboration

Another important message in Edition 005 is that the development of healthcare services should progress alongside the development of research. In the magazine’s editorial, the growth of the RAHO Club network is associated with the need to strengthen data, documentation, evaluation, research, and openness to scientific assessment. The e-magazine also reports ongoing communication with the Ministry of Health and the exploration of collaboration with IPB University. Several agendas mentioned include protocol development, case documentation, strengthening research ethics, clinical trials, scientific publications, and human resource development. The magazine positions healthcare services, research, and collaboration as three components that need to progress together in the development of health technologies. For IMI, this approach is important because the development of nanobubble technology should not stop at technological innovation or user experience. Every finding needs to be continuously recorded, tested, evaluated, and further developed through research that follows appropriate methodologies and ethical principles.

Expanding Community-Based Health Education and Networks

This edition also reports the signing of a collaboration agreement between RAHO Club and Paguyuban Sosial Marga Tionghoa Indonesia (PSMTI) in September 2026. The collaboration includes health-related activities, lifestyle education, and social initiatives by utilizing PSMTI’s network across various regions of Indonesia. In addition, the magazine records the expansion of the RAHO Club network through the opening of a branch at Pluit Village, North Jakarta, as well as RAHO Club Premier at Simply Wellness Indonesia, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. This expansion is accompanied by an emphasis on educational activities, clinical documentation, and the development of preventive health approaches.

Connecting Research with Public Education

In addition to institutional and research reports, E-Magazine Edition 005 also presents educational material on microcirculation, vascular health, and lifestyle factors associated with cardiovascular health. This discussion broadens the role of the e-magazine as a medium that connects organizational developments with the communication of health knowledge to the public. For Yayasan Inovasi Molekuler Indonesia, publications such as the RAHO Club E-Magazine serve as one of the platforms for documenting the journey from observation and clinical experience toward documentation, research, and the development of scientific evidence. This process is important in building a health innovation ecosystem that involves physicians, researchers, academics, communities, educational institutions, and other stakeholders. Through stronger research and collaboration, IMI continues to encourage the development of nanobubble studies and molecular innovation in a measurable and well-documented manner, while remaining open to scientific evaluation. In this way, technological development can progress alongside stronger evidence, research integrity, and the needs of the wider community.
