Sutiman B. Sumitro is a professor from the Department of Biology, Brawijaya University, Malang, Indonesia. Besides being an advisor of IMI, Prof. Sutiman is also an academic at Universitas Brawijaya and a director of research at the Free Radical Research Institute, Malang. He has 2 patents including: “The protein molecules of pellucida zone and its induced antibody for female contraceptives” and “The GAD65 antibody diagnostic kit for pre-diabetes mellitus patients”. A number of his scientific articles and books have been published. During his career, he has been a dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Islam Malang (1992-1994) and Universitas Brawijaya (1994-2000), and dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Malang (2007-2013). In addition, he is also involved in organizations such as: being an advisor in PATRI (Indonesian Reproductive Technology Association), Asia Pacific Organization on Cell Biology (APOCB), and the head of coordination for the East Java region in the Indonesian Biology Association.
