Akhamad Sabarudin is a professor currently active as a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia. While becoming the director of IMI, Sabarudin also serves as the head of the Advanced System and Material Technology (ASMAT) research center at Universitas Brawijaya. Some of the achievements that Sabarudin has received include being ranked 4th in the National Outstanding Lecturer by DIKTI in 2008 and the FIA Award for Young Researcher from the Japan Association for Flow Injection Analysis (JAFIA) in 2014.
